Which blossoms can be planted in the spring that’ll last throughout the growing season?

daylilies flower multiple times. marigolds, nasturtiums, and pansies can be started early and will last a while. Zinnias and cosmos should last the whole growing season but they can get big.

Girl, me too. That is why I recommend edible flowers and just letting some of your veggies go to flower.

If there’s a flowering dogwood near by, will that suffice?

For starters, giant silk moths and several species of butterflies favor dogwoods as host plants. The trees’ spring flowers also provide nectar to bees and other pollinating insects, including spring azure butterflies.

Cosmos- attract green lacewings that eat aphids
Marigolds- rabbit resistant | repels tomato hornworms, squash bugs, and whiteflies
Nasturtiums- edible | attracts aphids (trap plant)
Zinnias- attracts butterflies
Pansy- attracts butterflies
Daffodils- bloom early | perennial
Daylilies- bloom for a long period of time | perennial
