I soak ginger and turmeric in a hydrogen peroxide bath to prevent them from molding.

Put the root pieces in a labeled plastic sandwich bag. Fill the bag halfway with water. Add a little peroxide to the water. Squeeze the air out. The root pieces will bubble. Dump the water and rinse with water before planting.
